Are you even paying attention to what you're saying, bwatkins. "You all should be ashamed as Americans and Human Beings in general to drag a 17 year old child into politics. Do any of you have morals and understanding?" That's what you said after supposedly reading the very first line of the article that says, "Republican John McCain's campaign revealed that the 17-year-old daughter of his presumptive running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, is pregnant." Maybe you should be directing your comments and questions to John McCain and the people running his campaign who first drug her into the political spotlot. Are you really sure you want to vote for the people you're questioning about their "morals and understanding", as you stated? Or are you like John McCain and you just don't get it?!!

Very well said. I agree with your comments as a parent of a couple teenagers myself. We guide them the best we can but they are influenced by many other factors (Like the extremely liberal left media) on what is right and acceptable. Just look at the crap on TV and the movies that 17 year olds are subjected to as "normal" behavior. We get maybe 10-20% face time (if lucky) and they spend the rest subjected to way worse.
Anyone not a parent af a teenaer should leave their opinion to themself!

bwakins I couldn't agree with you more . I cant beleive that the public and the media are so blood thirsty ( so to speak) that they are willing to traumatize this child. by dragging her through the mud not even considering the long term effects. She is a human being and she made a mistake, SO WHAt!!! We have all made mistakes. As a stepmom to 14 and 18 yrs old girls, I realize how hard it is to raise them . No matter how well you do , you can't be with them 24/7. It has happened at a bad time thats true, but in no way should this be an issue or reflection on her Mother. I am not republican but I do admire this lady she has to have some real guts to face this matter at this time.

I agree, they should not exploit this poor girl. Having been in her situation, I do understand. However, I have to say the issue is not really with her but for the comments she has made and what she IS standing for in regards to teen pregnancy & abortion. I believe the statements said " The platform this year will reassert the party's opposition to abortion. And we will not allow any exceptions in the case of rape, incest or to save the life of the mother."

The Republican Party frowns upon "unmarried" pregnancies, so this news unfortunately shows allot of the person that is running for the 2nd highest position in America. Sorry, but it is the business of American citizens since he or she will be making decisions that will effect them if something was to happen with John McCain's health. God willing that will not happen.

And last but not least back to me original thought, if she & her daughter choose to keep the babies make, that is their decision, BUT who does she think she is to tell someone who has been raped or molested that they have a moral obligation to have a baby. How dare she or anyone else stand on their righteous pedestal and tell someone their are wrong. Wrong for making a decision on what is best for THEIR body. Obviously she has never meet or known anyone whom HAS been in that situation, if she had she might think differently!

I agree. Once children become teenagers they may listen to their parents out of respect but that doesn't mean that they agree. I respect Mrs. Palin for giving her daughter freedom to make choices - good or bad.
